The All-New Mercedes-AMG ONE is Unlike Any Supercar the World Has Ever Seen
What happens when you combine savage spirit with the science of all-out performance? You arrive at the all-new Mercedes-AMG ONE. This car is based on the idea of the future of driving performance. The Mercedes-AMG ONE is a collaboration between AMG and the Mercedes Formula One team. Their mission was to create a Formula One car for the road.
The result is a car that redefines what you know a super can do. We want to share more about this breathtaking car created by the brightest minds in performance. We'll examine its performance as well as its design and technology highlights.
Design
Everywhere you look at the new Mercedes-AMG ONE, active aerodynamics and performance exist. The Mercedes-AMG ONE delivers the absolute pinnacle of motorsport with a wealth of air inlets for cooling and its muscular proportions. The exterior features 10-spoke forge aluminum wheels with specially built Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires to maximize grip and performance on the track.
At the front, flat LED headlamps and tail lamps with a rhomboid design are inspired by the AMG logo. In addition, the exterior body features a vertical spoiler lip and a two-section rear diffuser that optimizes rear downforce when going through the faster corners. The aerodynamics are further helped by a rooftop air intake and shark fin for streamlining and reducing drag. Further, the front splitter ensures you hit every apex with ease.
Interior
Inside, the Mercedes-AMG ONE delivers a minimalist design that focuses on you, the driver. The cockpit is set well forward of the car for better weight distribution. The interior features two molded bucket seats wrapped in exotic materials, including a textile mesh and Nappa leather. The seats are constructed with carbon fiber and feature a touch of yellow top stitching for that extra bit of distinction.
Behind the wheel, you get a Formula One-style steering wheel with integrated controls and a LED rev display to let you know when to shift gears.
Technology
For technology, the new Mercedes-AMG ONE features two 10-inch free-standing displays; one on the dash and one on the center stack. You can track your performance through the center display, so you can improve each time you hit the track. Below, a big red button starts up the powerful V6 hybrid powertrain.
Performance
Regarding performance, the new Mercedes-AMG is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 hybrid engine with four electric motors, including one integrated into the turbocharger, delivering 1,063 horsepower and developed with exclusivity by High Per Performance Powertrains, the engine builder for the Mercedes F1 team. The electric motors themselves churn out 450 kilowatts of power. The incredible amount of power allows the Mercedes-AMG ONE to go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds, zero to 120 miles per hour in under seven seconds, and on to a top speed of 219 miles per hour.
All the power is delivered through an automated AMG Speedshift eight-speed transmission with an 800-volt EQ drive system. You can articulate the drive charismatics through several drive modes, including Sport Handling and Track Mode, to get the most out of the track. The Mercedes-AMG ONE features carbon-ceramic brakes with perforated ventilation to bring all that power to a stop. This means you won't have to worry about brake fade or your brakes overheating.
